Do not use a generic schedule blindly
Scale formation depends on water chemistry, temperature and usage. Some boilers and superautomatic systems use specific descaling cycles; some machines should be serviced rather than user-descaled.
Before descaling
- Read the exact model manual.
- Confirm that user descaling is permitted.
- Use the approved product and concentration.
- Remove or replace filters as instructed.
- Allow enough time for all rinse cycles.
Prevention is easier
Suitable water and on-time filter replacement can reduce scale. Descaling cannot repair a blocked valve, failing heater or corroded component.
Never mix descaling chemicals with bleach or other cleaners. Keep products labelled, closed and away from children.
