Steam is hot and powerful

Use the machine’s handle or insulated grip, keep hands away from the wand tip and direct purges into the drip tray. Steam can cause burns.

A repeatable sequence

  • Start with cold milk in a clean pitcher.
  • Purge condensation as the manual directs.
  • Position the tip near the surface to introduce air.
  • Lower the tip slightly to create a rolling motion.
  • Stop before milk becomes too hot to control.
  • Wipe and purge the wand immediately.

Machine designs differ

Single-boiler machines may require a wait between brewing and steaming. Thermoblock and dual-heating systems can change the workflow. Follow instructions for cooling or refilling a boiler after steaming.

Never remove a pressurized steam tip or open a boiler. Let the machine cool and use qualified service when blocked parts cannot be cleared by the approved external procedure.
