They solve different problems

Capsule machines are designed for fast, consistent portions with little cleanup. Traditional espresso systems are built around fresh grinding, adjustable dose and extraction control. A capsule drink may be espresso-style, but the system does not offer the same recipe range.

Compare the whole cost

A low machine price can hide a high portion cost. Traditional espresso requires a grinder and accessories, while beans may cost less per drink. Use actual capsule, bean, milk and maintenance prices.

A household compromise
